The forest king emperor or forest king charaxes (''Charaxes xiphares'') is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. It is found southern Africa (Afrotropical ecozone) 〔(''Charaxes'' ), funet.fi〕 The wingspan is 65–80 mm in males and 70–95 mm in females.〔Woodhall, Steve.
